A New Look
At Spore Creative, we remind our marketing clients of the importance of brand consistency often. When you plan your marketing campaigns, your identity should be at the forefront of your thoughts. Your customers get to know you through seeing your brand well represented.
But sometimes, it's time for a facelift. Many of the world's largest corporations have gone through logo redesigns and facelifts in the last 20 years. Think of iconic brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi who subtly tweak their logos while maintaining the original feel of their brands. Being from Minnesota, we've watched as recently the Mall of America decided to not just tweak their logo, but recreate their identity entirely.
Here's the old logo, and the new logo.
The Mall of America has struggled in the past few years as the economy has shifted and affected mall shopping across the US. They've also dealt with gangs and crime that have driven upscale shoppers away. This facelift, by Minneapolis based design firm Duffy & Partners, is an attempt to re-brand and re-imagine the shopping experience.
Here are some additional applications of the new logo.
I particularly appreciate this style guide - someting that we hand to our logo and branding clients to help ensure that they continue to use consistent branding within their new logo and look.
