IP Address

An Internet Protocol (IP) Address is a numerical sequence (i.e. 208.77.188.166) assigned to a device on a computer network that acts as an address for directing communication between devices. The IP routes data packets between networks, specifying source and destination locations. The address works almost exactly like a home address, simply directing information on how to reach your location.
