![]() Web 2.0 is the internet concept that ideas and information more efficiently develop when the delivery is free and unrestricted. The ability for people to share, trade and absorb knowledge is key to fostering new technologies, advancing our perception and bridging social gaps. Networking websites such as Myspace and Facebook use Web 2.0 ideologies. Wikipedia uses web 2.0 methods to allow the collaboration of information. This unrestrictive information consortium can also be called open source. Information should not be constricted; it should be accessible without limitation. Anyone has the right to understand new ideas and present new views. From this movement new technologies have sprung up some based on platforms such as Flickr.com and other based around improving how we created websites. To focus more on how the Web 2.0 movement has helped better website development we take a look at AJAX . AJAX is a combination of JavaScript and cascading style sheets. It allows programmers to load animated content from the server rather then from an application such as Flash, which requires an externally embedded file. AJAX now allows us to gain the same flash effects and be search able to Google. All the menu, slide, scroll and dynamic content on this site presented using AJAX . Most importantly AJAX allows code and information to be easily loaded from databases and processed on the server side. This means websites load faster, cleaner and more securely. A good indication of your web developer’s skill level is whether they understand and know how to use Web 2.0 tools.
